Two points should be clear about the Gulen Charter Schools phenomenon: (1) "Gulen-inspired schools" refers to private schools established and run by Gulen-inspired entrepreneurs and educators in Turkey and around the world. (Naming them Gulen schools, or Gulen charter schools in the US is as wrong as it could be) (2) The US charter schools where some Gulen-inspired educators might happen to work are public initiatives and they are not affiliated with Fethullah Gulen or Gulen Movement in any way.

Ergenekon Suspects Get Lengthy Sentences
On Monday, Ilker Basbug, former chief of general staff, was sentenced to life along with almost 300 defendants who were sentenced to various terms ranging from life to a few years. The suspects were accused of plotting to overthrow the government.
The court sentenced former military chief Gen. İlker Başbuğ, journalist Tuncay Özkan, retired Col. Dursun Çiçek, lawyer Kemal Kerinçsiz, Workers' Party (IP) leader Doğu Perinçek, retired Col. Fuat Selvi, Hasan Ataman Yıldırım, retired generals Hurşit Tolon, Nusret Taşdeler, Hasan Iğsız and Şener Eruygur to aggravated life imprisonment. Retired Brig. Gen. Veli Küçük, Capt. Muzaffer Tekin and Council of State shooter Alparslan Arslan got consecutive life sentences in the trial. The court also acquitted a total of 21 of the 275 defendants.
The list goes on, but one thing is clear and this is something I have been claiming for some time: Turkish ODA TV is behind the anti-charter groups and ODA TV is clearly linked to Ergenekon without any suspicion or hesitation.
The court also used the term "Ergenekon Terrorist Organization" officially.
